A market-exhibition in the squares of the historic center. A showcase of autumn food and wine products typical of the Este family, including plants, flowers, and forgotten fruits. Conferences and workshops dedicated to food and environmental sustainability will be held, along with guided tours of the city of Ferrara.
Historical reenactments, costumed parades, ladies, knights, flag-wavers, medieval and Renaissance dances.
A 14th-century village to rediscover the crafts and daily life of the era.
The Piazzas of Taste, with over 100 exhibitors, and the local Pro Loco associations will be dedicated to the culinary excellence of the Este family (such as pumpkin cappellacci, salama da sugo, and pampepato).
The central Piazza and Largo Castello, Corso Martiri della Libertà, Piazza Savonarola, and Piazza della Repubblica will be transformed into a vast open-air stage for the Exhibition of Excellence and Biodiversity, hosting over 100 exhibitors.
Stalls, educational workshops, flower and plant nursery displays, creative crafts, and ancient trades will recreate the atmosphere of times gone by, offering visitors a journey through the flavors, culture, and craftsmanship of centuries past.
For two days, Ferrara will once again be the ducal capital: ladies, knights, and flag-wavers will enliven the squares with performances of medieval and Renaissance dances, duels of arms, and period music. A reconstruction of a 14th-century village will allow visitors to rediscover the daily life and crafts of the era, transforming the heart of the city into a fascinating living theater.
The gastronomic heart of the event is found in the Piazze del Gusto (Piazze del Gusto): Piazza Repubblica, Piazza Castello, Largo Castello, and Piazza Savonarola, and, starting this year, the Gardens of Viale Cavour. Here, from 9:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, you can taste typical dishes and specialties from the Este region, where Ferrara’s finest products naturally take pride of place: from De.Co. Ferrarese bread to pasticcio di maccheroni, from mandurlin dal pont (a type of sweet bread) to pampapato (a type of sweet bread) and tenerina (a type of sweet bread), to tagliatelle cake and jams. Alongside the desserts and cured meats, there will also be marinated Comacchio wines, Amaro DeltAntico, and the wines of Bosco Eliceo, Pignoletto and Lambrusco di Modena.
