Cradle of the Renaissance, atmospheres and views that evoke the ancient splendor of the Este family, Ferrara is the ideal city to crown your love bond.
Municipal Palace (Tapestry Room)
Located inside the ancient Palazzo Ducale built in 1245 as the residence of the Este family, and now home to the Town Hall, the Sala degli Arazzi is well known for the drapes that distinguish it. Two ancient Flemish tapestries, made 4 centuries ago, are displayed in this room
Estense Castle (Imbarcadero Hall)
The Estense Castle was built in 1385 in the heart of the city by order of Nicolò d’Este, and today it is the only fortress in Europe surrounded by water and which has the perfectly preserved original drawbridge.
Municipal Theater (Theatre Ridotto)
This part of the theatre, which was initially accessed from the grand staircase, was completed last, in the early nineteenth century. From the beginning, and until the twentieth century, the surrounding rooms of the theater served as meeting points.
Palazzo Sacrati Muzzarelli Crema (Landscape Hall)
Originally the building consisted of only two cases, corresponding to the ancient and current entrance, while the third, further east, was part of the neighboring building. The current structure is the result of a renovation in 1853, which involved the construction of the current marble staircase and the raising of the annexed section of the façade to the east.
Palazzo Diamanti (Rossetti Room)
The Palazzo dei Diamanti is one of the most symbolic places of the Italian Renaissance, built as part of the most famous urban revolution of the city of Ferrara: the Herculean Addition commissioned by Ercole I d’Este and which saw the architect of court Biagio Rossetti.
