From Monet to Van Gogh to Kandinsky.
New Perspectives on Nature and Modernity
Palazzo dei Diamanti | September 19, 2026 – January 10, 2027
This fall, Palazzo dei Diamanti presents the exhibition “From Monet to Van Gogh to Kandinsky. New Perspectives on Nature and Modernity.”
The exhibition retraces the key stages and currents of the long journey of modernity: from the naturalist sensibility of the Barbizon School to the threshold of abstraction, passing through Impressionism, Post-Impressionism, Divisionism, and Futurism. At its core, landscape and modern life become the vantage point of an era in which the relationship between the artist and the visible world is radically redefined.
Over 120 works, including paintings, drawings, and engravings, from the Museum Boijmans Van Beuningen in Rotterdam and from important public and private Italian collections, will take you on a journey to discover masterpieces by Monet, Degas, Van Gogh, Gauguin, Picasso, Kandinsky, and Mondrian.
Open daily from 9:30 am to 7:30 pm (ticket office closes at 6:30 pm)
