Treat yourself like a lord this New Year’s Eve: The Banquet of the Dukes of Este at the Estense Castle Pier is a dinner with a Renaissance menu, setting, and music, in the company of the Ducal Court, represented by guards, pages, maids, and nobles dressed in elegant robes (crazy!).

Appointment at the Theater In the splendid Ridotto Halls of the Teatro Comunale di Ferrara, the Belle Époque New Year’s Eve Gala at the Theater awaits you. An elegant evening of refined cuisine and DOC wines, accompanied by a great cast of artists on an unprecedented journey through the history of music.

This edition will once again be packed with new features and excitement, culminating with the famous “Castle Fire,” hailed by the media as one of the most beautiful fireworks displays in Europe. The musical program preceding and following the midnight highlight is sure to please audiences of all ages.

2026 will be ushered in as usual with an extraordinary pyromusical display, named by Trivago among the 10 most astonishing in Europe, over the iconic monument of the City of Ferrara: the Fire of the Estense Castle.

The famous fireworks, launched as per tradition from the moat, towers, and balconies of the Estense Castle, will welcome the New Year with the celebrated musical display visible from all four sides of the Castle.

NEW YEAR’S EVE IN FERRARA

A grand celebration encompassing all the squares of the historic center, with areas dedicated to culinary delights, a Christmas Village, and an ice skating rink. And while we wait for the thrilling fireworks display at the Estense Castle at the stroke of midnight on the 31st, we’ll ring in the New Year with cascades of color and swirls of light, plenty of music for all tastes, a New Year’s Eve Gala at the Ridotto del Teatro Comunale, and a Banquet of the Dukes of Este in the Castle’s landing stages in Renaissance costume. There’s also a grand dinner on the main floor of the Castle. Dinner can also be enjoyed at Palazzo Crema or Palazzo della Racchetta (the latter buffet-style), and you can start the New Year with a lunch—double seating at 12:00 PM and 3:00 PM—in the Castle grounds.
